Dr. Alister Munthali

AlDr. Alister C. Munthali is an Associate Professor of Research and Director of the Centre for Social Research. He has an MA in Medical Anthropology from University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands and a PhD in Anthropology (with specialization in Medical Anthropology) from Rhodes University, South Africa. His research interests include: disability and development, sexual and reproductive health, health seeking behavior and children’s health and welfare.

 

He has special interest in the development of national health sector policies and strategic plans and has worked in several African countries. He has also developed country specific proposals for submission to multilateral agencies. He teaches in the Department of Sociology at Chancellor College, University of Malawi.
