Outreach and Dissemination

The impact of a research centre depends not only on the quality of its studies, but also on its effectiveness in disseminating its research findings. The CSR will aim at stimulating wider public policy dialogue by initiating and facilitating debate and discussion with academia, policy makers, civil society and donors through holding of dissemination workshops. Since the audience that the CSR’s outreach and dissemination programme is trying to reach is varied, the formats of this outreach and dissemination will be tailor-made for appropriate groups.

This component of the strategic plan (i) supports the research process and contributes to teaching materials and programmes in the Faculty of Social Science; (ii) maximises the impact of CSR’s research on policy formulation and development management; and stimulates public policy dialogue, including on issues not directly related to CSR’s own research output. Traditionally, CSR’s outreach activities have included forums such as conferences, workshops and seminars and publications. Following are mediums that will advance CSR’s outreach and dissemination programme so that it can better fulfil the functions outlined above.
