Mr. John Kadzandira

John Kadzandira is a Research Fellow in Public Health and Human Nutrition at the Centre for Social Research of the University of Malawi. He is currently studying for PhD in Health Policy and Health Systems at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) where his Thesis Work focuses on ‘Task Shifting and its Effects on the Health Surveillance Assistants in Malawi’. John has a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (University of Malawi) and a Master of Science in Applied Human Nutrition (University of Nairobi). His research interests are in the areas of: Human Resources for Health, Health Systems, Maternal and Child Health, Sexual & reproductive Health, HIV & AIDS, Nutrition and Livelihoods.

 

John is an experienced social researcher with over 14 years conducting field research, consultancies and M&E in Malawi and other Southern African countries. He has considerable experience in research designs, quantitative and qualitative data analysis and report writing. He has also completed assignments funded by clients including the Government of Malawi, Johns Hopkins University/Centre for Communication programme (JHU/CCP), USAID, World Bank, CDC, NAC and CARE Malawi. In 2007, he led the National Census of Human Resources for the Health Sector on behalf of the government of Malawi.
